The technical parameters of universal joints are the core basis for selection and application. All parameters in Chunling product samples are verified values under actual working conditions. When the unit is not specified, the length/hole diameter type is in millimeters (mm), the torque type is in newton-meters (N · m)/kN · m (kN · m), the Angle is in degrees (°), and the mass is in kilograms (kg). The definitions of core parameters and general indicators are as follows:
1. Length-related parameters (core indicators of scalable type The working length of the universal joint is determined by the installation distance of the equipment and the expansion and contraction amount during operation. The core indicators are the shortest compression length, expansion and contraction amount, and the maximum working length. The three satisfy the formula: LZ+La=LBmax
(1) LZ (Minimum Compression Length) : The minimum length of a telescopic universal joint in its shortened state, which cannot be further compressed.
(2) La Expansion range: The maximum length that the universal joint can extend. It is strictly prohibited to extend beyond the range, otherwise the spline pair will be damaged.
(3) LBmax (Maximum Working Length) : The longest length that can be achieved during operation, with the optimal working length being LZ+1/3La (applicable to the vast majority of working conditions);
(4) The non-expansion type universal joint has no expansion allowance, and its length is a fixed structural dimension. It can be customized according to the user's requirements.
2. Torque-related parameters (core indicators of load-bearing capacity
(1) Tn (Nominal Torque) : The theoretical calculated carrying torque under given conditions (rotational speed n=10r/min, shaft Angle = 3°, bearing life L=5000 hours, and stable load) serves as the basis for selection.
(2) Tf (Fatigue Torque) : The allowable torque determined based on fatigue strength under alternating loads, suitable for frequent start-stop and load fluctuation conditions.
(3) Tc (Calculated Torque) : The actual required torque calculated based on the actual equipment operating conditions must meet the requirement that Tc≤Tn/Tf; otherwise, overload damage may occur.
3. Angle-related parameters (axis deflection Angle compensation)
(1) Maximum axis deflection Angle β : The maximum single-direction bending Angle allowed when the universal joint is in operation The limit values vary among different series - SWC-I type (58~120 type 35°, 150~225 type 25°), SWC type 15°, SWCZ type (620 type 5°, the rest 10°), KSWC type (conventional 8°/ limit 15°);
(2) Composite axis Angle: When the universal joint has angles simultaneously in the horizontal and vertical planes, the composite Angle is calculated according to the formula The calculation of tgβ= tgβ 1 +tgβ 2 (β 1 is the horizontal folded Angle, β 2 is the vertical folded Angle), and the combined folded Angle must not exceed the maximum limit value in one direction.
4. Aperture and fit accuracy
(1) Core mating hole diameter: D2 (H9/H7 precision) is the core mating hole between the universal joint and the equipment. For light/medium type, it is H9 precision; for KSWC hollow type, it is H7 high precision; for heavy type, it is the special mating precision for heavy loads. D3 represents the pipe diameter. Some models are marked as D3×δ (pipe diameter × wall thickness).
(2) Flange bolt holes: The number of bolt holes (n) varies among different series of flanges. For instance, for the SWC-I type, n=6; for the SWC type, n=8/10/16; for the SWCZ type, n=20/24; and for the KSWC type, n=8/10/16, which are suitable for the connection requirements of various devices.
5. Other key parameters
(1) Rotational diameter D: The maximum rotational diameter of the universal joint during operation, which should be matched with the installation space of the equipment to avoid interference.
(2) Moment of inertia: The KSWC hollow type is separately marked with the moment of inertia (1.165-88.74kg · m²), which serves as an important basis for the selection of high-speed equipment.
(3) mL (mass increased by 100mm) : This parameter is marked on all models and is used for mass calculation of non-standard length universal joints and equipment load calculation.
